#95: ITL Participates In Olympic Day Sparring And Poomsae Showcase
The Maltese Olympic committee celebrated Olympic day on the 15th of June; an event celebrated at the university campus.
To commemorate the occasion, the MTA fielded a contingent of over 50 athletes from two local clubs: Iron Taekwondo League and Strive Taekwondo Club.

Clad in white and black doboks, the MTA hosted a series of test matches for kids, cadets, juniors, seniors and masters lasting from 08:30 till noon.
Three courts were managed by club coaches Ditmir Vodinaj (ITL), Jovo Mirkovic (ITL) and Mauro Busuttil (STC).
Sparring contests drew some excitement from the onlookers.
Amidst the sparring, Coach Jovo led a poomsae demonstration together with athletes from iron taekwondo league.
The poomsae squad featured recent medal winners Aliyah Labay (ITL) apart from coach Jovo himself, who performed single, pair and team poomsae.

Of all the sports there, Taekwondo was amongst the most highly represented due to its large number of participants.
On behalf of the MTA, we would like to thank our executive staff and club coaches for creating a superb event on the day. Naturally we would like to extend this thanks to the participating athletes, parents and volunteers who contributed.
