#109: ITL THF Team – Q3 2025 Report

The third quarter of 2025 was another active and productive period for the ITL THF Team, marked by international competition, training development, and continued progress in both poomsae and kyorugi disciplines.

Competition Highlights

Athlete Ashik Sunil represented the ITL THF Team at the Multi-European Games in Niš, Serbia, delivering a strong performance against a high-level opponent from Turkey. Despite narrowly missing out on a win in the opening round, Ashik showcased excellent technical skill and determination, reinforcing his position as one of the team’s most promising competitors.

Meanwhile, Anhelina Hladenova continued her outstanding form in poomsae, capturing gold in the August Online Poomsae Competition. Her success contributed significantly to the team’s collective effort, helping the ITL THF Team secure an impressive 5th place overall out of 36 teams.

Anhelina also medaled in a local competition organised by Iron Taekwondo League, claiming silver in the poomsae segment of the Rising Stars Open.

Grading and Development

The team also celebrated important milestones during the ITL Grading, with Anhelina Hladenova and brothers Arsenii and Nazar Baranyshynn successfully earning their next belt ranks.

Their progression reflects the consistent effort, discipline, and technical growth achieved through regular training and dedication.

Training Camps and Collaboration

All THF athletes participated in a three-day sparring camp organized by Strive Taekwondo to commemorate the club’s official opening. This event provided valuable opportunities for intensive training, team bonding, and exposure to a variety of sparring styles.

In addition, the team attended the Malta Taekwondo Association’s national training camp, led by renowned world medalist and international coach Hadi Mostaan. This experience allowed the athletes to refine their tactical understanding and gain inspiration from one of the sport’s elite figures.

Athlete Update

Ashik Sunil temporarily returned to India to attend to family matters but has continued his training regimen there, maintaining his commitment and readiness for his return to Malta.

Summary

The third quarter of 2025 highlighted the ITL THF Team’s resilience, growth, and commitment to excellence — both on and off the mats. With steady progress across all athletes and meaningful international exposure, the foundation has been strongly set for an even more successful final quarter of the year.
